Welcome to the Katie Callaghan Music Studio website. The goal of this music studio is to provide quality private music lessons to music students of all ages and ability levels. Instruction is offered on violin, viola, cello and piano. Mandolin lessons are also available to violin students.

A personalized educational plan is developed for each student depending on individual goals, interests and ability level or previous musical experience. Whether you are learning a new instrument as an adult or preparing for an audition, instruction at an appropriate level is available here.

If interested, students, especially school age children, can benefit from studying both a string instrument and piano together with the same teacher. Studying two instruments reinforces the learning and broadens overall music skills.

Violin students may also enjoy learning viola after several years of study on violin. The instruments are very similar so students can learn viola quickly.

Katie Callaghan holds an M.S. in Education. She has more 47 years of musical experience playing several instruments in orchestras and chamber ensembles. She is a successful and enthusiastic music teacher who has been enjoying teaching private lessons in southeastern CT for over 15

years.

Current and former students have won concerto competitions and been accepted into the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, CT High School All-State Orchestra, as well as HS and MS Eastern Regionals orchestras.
